It is cold and warm treatment and application for a hurt which is new (acute) and applies cold when injury is for the first 24-48 hours. Cold Reduce the swelling and inflammation which occur with a new injury. And cold causes capillaries to constrict. Applying the cold for 15-20 minutes is good.  First put a cloth or towel between the ice and the skin because applying ice directly to the skin can cause frostbite and for maximum result of cold transmission, keep wet the towel. The ice once per hour initially should be applied and the injury heals, apply cold as you need for pain relief, or try heat.

Cold therapy: -


Cold can be more effective than heat over the chronic pain, such as with trigger points, thorax. Cold therapy to recover from muscle soreness is used by sports players after intense games. Many teams routinely take an ice bath in this covering them from the chest down in ice water. A common rule is to spend 10 minutes while taking ice bath. 


Method to take ice and warm bath: - 


Consisting of 1 minute in an ice bath and 1 minute in a warm shower is called contrast bath. There is agreement that ice and contrast baths make athletes feel better afterwards. Some studies are showing that improvements in physiological markers of recovery, but findings are inconsistent. During a football match in summer, body temperatures can goes high up to 39.4 degrees Celsius. Ice vests are specialized vests in which ice is packed, which low down the temperature of the body core. Neck collar is ice packed collars. 

Best form of crypotherapy: -


Immersion in a chamber and this chamber is cooled to -120 degrees Celsius is an amazing and extreme form of cryotherapy. The face, hands, feet and ears are covered for avoiding frostbite, but the therapy taker wears a bathing suit. 3 minutes is time to stay in it. A person could survive in such extreme temperatures? The skin cools rapidly and core temperature is the same while in the chamber. Obviously, cryotherapy chambers must be used with great care to avoid damage such as:

Very little research has been done on sports performance for effect of cryotherapy chambers. Study showed that anaerobic cycling performance in men improved after 10 exposures of three minutes of cryotherapy, that is, the ability to do short sprints improved. Cryotherapy remains an important modality.
